CITY of santa fe Issues Official Proclamation for NMFFL

It’s hard to put into words what this proclamation means. New Mexico Fight for Life has been given a day by the Mayor of Santa Fe! This has exceeded every expectation I could have dreamed of. Within our first year, we now have New Mexico Fight for Life Day—an incredible acknowledgment of the work being done and the people we are helping.  

These past few months have been a whirlwind. The number of people we’re helping, the advocacy work, and the partnerships with first responders, mental health organizations, veterans, and more—it’s overwhelming in the best way. When I created this organization, I never imagined it would grow into what it is today.

My goal has always been to honor Justin’s legacy and turn it into something positive, like saving lives and helping people. After receiving this proclamation, I hope you can see that he, along with others we’ve lost, is the reason behind all of this.

If you read the proclamation, you’ll see the tragic reality of suicide rates in New Mexico. I want to publicly thank the Mayor for signing this. It doesn’t just make our state look good—it brings much-needed attention to the fact that we are struggling with mental health. By being honest and upfront, we can start coming together to make real changes, help people, and save lives. So thank you to the Mayor.

I also want to thank Randi—when you surprised me with this, I was completely taken aback. I still am. I adore you and appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for your advocacy and all the work you do for suicide prevention.

Thank you, Ken, for presenting this on behalf of the Mayor. Your speech was deeply moving, and your passion for suicide prevention is beautiful. I’m humbled to know you and appreciate you more than words can express.

So, from here on out, September 14th is officially New Mexico Fight for Life Day! I can’t believe it. My heart is exploding with gratitude. Let’s mark it down, remember to help one another, reach out, and always lead with compassion because we never know what people are truly going through. Let’s always lead with love.

Thank you to all my friends, family, supporters, and community members  & incredible board who have stood by my nonprofit from the very beginning. Our support groups are thriving, our financial assistance programs are helping so many families, and our outreach efforts are expanding . There is so much more to come, and I deeply appreciate all the love and support!
